Storyteller Gourds~Click Pictures Above and Below To Enlarge and View Product Info~The storyteller, that special person in every culture who passes on the tales and wisdom to each generation. She is always surrounded by the children of her homeland. Whether bright-eyed or sleeping they are all listening. Gourd characters are created from select hardshell gourds, cured, cleaned and painted to maintain their beauty for many years. The Storyteller has 5 or more children made of wood in the smaller sizes. Larger sizes have a combination of 7 to 10 wood and gourd children. The Angel has wings made of corn husks and raffia and a halo made of sisal rope. Each gourd slightly varies since they are hand crafted. All pieces are hand painted and signed by the artist Janice M.
