Size: 14 1/4"H x 7"W x 4 1/2"D
Made of porcelain
This statue is designed to hold and drip water from the vase Kuan Yin is holding into the dragon's mouth.
Directions:
This statue will drip water from her flask into the dragon's mouth. First pour enough water into the dragon's mouth until it is nearly full. Then tip the statue onto her back, then completely upside down for a moment, and place her on a level surface.
The water will gently drip into the dragon's mouth, until it has all run back into the bottom of the statue. To restart the water, tip the statue upside down again. This can be a wonderful meditation piece with each drop counting your blessings. You may then use the water to sprinkle around a location for energy clearing, or healing.
Story:
In China, Kuan Yin is the Goddess of Mercy and Compassion and is also the Protectress of Children.
Here she is represented as standing on a crest of waves, from which rises a Dragon, who drinks from her vase that holds the nectar of her compassion. The Dragons symbolize the creative strength of heaven (yang) and Kuan Yin represents the earth (yin).
She may be holding a lotus branch, or there may be lotus blossoms in the water surrounding the dragons. When shown arising from water, the lotus symbolizes the physical existence firmly established against the sea of possibility. Lotuses also represent purity and divine birth.
